This is an awesome elevator, but sadly, this building is closing in May for renovations, and this elevator will be modernized. This elevator has a loud door operator. Fire service was added to this elevator. Otis black button fixtures, Dover? lantern, Dover fire service phase 1 & phase 2 panels, Adams Survivor hall stations. This elevator has a very rare, maybe even custom type of vintage Otis indicator. The permit says this elevator is overhead traction, but the permit appears to be wrong, because the motor generator and relays are loudest at basement level. I was able to get a view of the shaft walls going by through the vents, and you could see the selector tape. The 4th floor was locked later in the video because it closed for the night. I think there might be a timer in the elevator that automatically locks that floor out after a certain time. Year installed: Circa 1949
